Privacy notice
Short version: we keep only what the club needs, you choose how we reach you, and you can delete everything yourself at any time. This notice follows the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act 10173).
Who runs the club
Lokalhost Club was started by Tony Herrera of Opus Automations, Dumaguete. The club is responsible for the details you give it.
What we keep
- Your email address, which you sign in with.
- Your name, what you're building, what you can help with, and what you need.
- Your mobile number, only if you give it.
- Which ways you said we can reach you: email, push notifications, text.
- If you link Discord, your Discord user ID and your Discord username, and when you linked them. We don't keep the access token Discord gives us: it is used once, while you link, to add you to the server, and then it is dropped.
- If you turn on push, an address your browser gives us for sending notifications to that device, the keys needed to send to it, and the name your browser reports for itself. It isn't your phone number.
- When you joined, and when you agreed to this notice.
Why
- To run the club and help members find people who can help, or who need help.
- To send club news, only by the ways you ticked.
- If you link Discord: to add you to the club's Discord server, give you your Member role, and take it back if you disconnect. We keep your Discord ID and username for that, and so the admins can see who is linked.
We don't sell your details, and we don't use them for ads. There are no ad or tracking cookies on this site; the only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in, keep the sign-in safe from bots, and, for a few minutes if you press Join the Discord, keep that link safe. The cookie policy lists them.
Who sees it
The club's admins can see member details so they can run the club and connect people. These services handle the details for us, only to do their job:
- Clerk: sign-in and email codes.
- Cloudflare: the network in front of Clerk's sign-in service, and the bot check (Turnstile) that Clerk can show when you sign up.
- Discord: only if you link your account. You say yes on Discord's own page, which gives us your Discord ID and username, and we ask Discord to add you to the club server and give you your role. What Discord does with your account is covered by its own privacy policy.
- Railway: hosts the site and the database, in Singapore.
- Resend: sends club emails.
- Semaphore: would send texts, once texts are switched on. They are off for now.
- Your browser's push service (for example Google, Apple or Mozilla): carries push notifications to your device.
How long
Until you delete your account. In My settings, Delete my account removes your details, your devices and your login straight away, and takes your roles back on the Discord server if you linked it. Disconnect on the Discord card deletes your Discord ID and username and removes your roles; you stay in the server unless you leave it yourself.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you can ask what we hold about you, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, object to how it's used, and take back your consent. You can change most of this yourself in your settings, or write to us. If you think we haven't handled your details properly, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph).
